[April 7, 2021] This year, we held our Lobby Day, with a twist! Car caravan and press conferences held in 6 cities across Texas.
Since we all couldn’t gather together, for Lobby Day this year, we held local car caravan parades and press Conferences in cities around Texas. Our goal was to rally members around the State, gather media attention and kickoff an April Lobbying Month! Here is a brief rundown of the details for our regional events. More information will be coming soon.
Austin TSEU Lobby Day Caravan
Our Austin event was the highest attended event bringing in over 50 for our set up and press conference and about 30 cars participating in our car caravan around the city and past the capitol.

Houston TSEU Lobby Day Caravan
In Houston, some 20 members held a brief press conference before taking to the street for their caravan. At caravan stops, members were joined by fellow state workers in helping call for better pay and state services. The caravan culminated with a press conference.

Dallas TSEU Lobby Day Caravan
While our DFW event only had 10 cars for our caravan, we were able to get a ton of attention. The caravan route went past several large office complexes were coworkers and fellow state workers showed solidarity as we drove past. The event culminated with a Solidarity Event, press conference, and final remarks at DFPS Arlington.

San Antonio TSEU Lobby Day Caravan
ROC members lead the charge during our San Antonio Lobby Day event. More than 20 attended, along with gathering a lot of local press coverage. Our caravan received lots of solidarity from area state offices as we went past. The event culminated with a press conference and solidarity event – which had picked up a few more people along the way!

Valley TSEU Lobby Day Caravan
Our Valley -area Lobby day event was probably the most vocal AND most productive event of the day! With more than 30 area members attending, during the event, 4 new members signed up and 3 current members joined COPE! We also got a ton of great press coverage from local and statewide news outlets.

While our El Paso Caravan and press conference was not the largest event we held, those in attendance (including TSEU President Judy Lugo) were no less enthusiastic! Our small caravan of 10, well-decorated vehicles made their way across El Paso, picking up a few members from UTEP along the way!
