Dear Governor Abbot,

Pension annuities have not increased since 2001! The cost of living has increased by a great deal during that period, our annuities have NOT!

We are requesting that You add a $2500 bonus check during this Special Session and to make this a priority item for 2023! This bonus would come from the $7 billion dollar surplus in the General Revenue Fund, and cost LESS THAN ONE QUARTER OF A BILLION DOLLARS! Texas Retirement System (TRS) retirees received a MUCH DESERVED “13th check” from this Legislature, don’t we deserve the same?
