Why does the ERS election matter?
- Between 6% to 9.5% of your salary goes to the ERS pension fund – thousands of dollars per year!
- ERS Board members make important decisions about our healthcare benefits
Election Dates: May 16 – June 20
Every state employee will get a ballot in the mail, starting around Friday May 16. Employees with email addresses that have been registered with the ERS will also receive an email with a direct link to vote online.
Most of your coworkers don’t vote in these critical elections. Let’s change that!
In the last ERS election (2023), only 12,110 of 133,410 eligible employees voted. That means over 91% didn’t cast a ballot. And these elections are decided by razor-thin margins—just 41 votes in 2015 and 315 votes in 2019. If we all do our part, we can elect Diane Ruiz. When she joins current ERS Board Trustee and TSEU member Neika Clark, we’ll double the voice of frontline employees and retirees on the board.
